A Setback, Not the End – Inter Legends FC Will Rise Again

On Saturday 26th July, Inter Legends FC faced one of our toughest tests yet in a fiercely competitive Legends Football match against Amesbury Town. It was a hard day at the office – a tough result to take – but an important reminder of the work still to be done.

The conditions were far from ideal. The weather, the pitch, and a few unavoidable squad changes meant we were always up against it. But credit where credit’s due – Amesbury Town were excellent. Organised, sharp, and full of quality, they were a class act and deserved their moment. That’s the beauty of football – on any given day, anything can happen.

Despite the result, the occasion was a success. Like every charity football match we take part in, the day was about more than the scoreline. It was about community, raising money, and putting smiles on faces. Every Celebrity Charity Football match we play gives us an opportunity to use football for good – and this one was no different.

This might have been Inter Legends FC’s first defeat, but it certainly won’t define us. We’ve built something special with this team – a spirit, a connection with fans, and a commitment to making a difference. This result? Just a bump in the road.

We’ll learn. We’ll regroup. And we’ll be back stronger. Because that’s what legends do.

As the great Nelson Mandela once said:
“Do not judge me by my success, judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again.”
