With an illustrious playing career spanning over two decades, he became a cult hero at clubs like AFC Wimbledon and Wycombe Wanderers, where he led the team to promotion into League One. His unique blend of power, leadership, and footballing intelligence made him one of the most recognisable figures in the game.
Now, he steps into a new role as assistant manager of Inter Legends FC, a team built around footballing icons who continue to entertain fans while supporting charitable causes. With his deep understanding of the game and natural ability to inspire those around him, Akinfenwa is the perfect addition to the coaching staff.
Akinfenwa brings invaluable leadership and experience to Inter Legends FC. Having played at every level of the English football pyramid, his knowledge and presence will be a massive boost for the squad. His ability to motivate players, both on and off the pitch, will be crucial as the team continues to grow. Akinfenwa’s first game as assistant manager will be at our highly anticipated match at Maidstone on 21st February, where Shaun Wallace’s Inter Legends FC will be in action.
